In collaboration, Diasporic Film Festival, Askkanwii Film Production & La victoria Healing Kitchen present the 2026 Diasporic Film & Food Series.

Proudly shown only at the People’s Building, this event series brings multiple art forms together for an engaging cross-cultural evening of film, food, and discussion to share and preserve our global cultures.

Join us for our first film in the series, “Destin d’un Migrant” (A Migrant’s Destiny), directed by Omar Brams Mbaye.

You’ll kick off the multi-sensory evening enjoying curated Senegalese cuisine and beverages (included in your ticket price), followed by the screening of the film with the option to purchase a themed snack box, and conclude the evening with a “meet the maker” discussion led by Ousmane Ndoye, a Senegalese immigrant.
